Feasibility analysis of PROJET LATE28

In 2016, AIR PROJET carried out a feasibility study for the reconstruction of two LATÉCOÈRE 28 aircraft: a seaplane version and a land version.

LATÉ 28 IN BRIEF

– With a wingspan of 19.25 m capable of carrying 8 passengers over 1000 km at a speed of 220 km/h, it was one of the best  aircraft in the world, a few years ahead of its European competitors.

In 1930, the Laté 28 held 21 out of 25 French records and 12 out of 32 world records.

– A vision of progress, finally encompassing all the commercial qualities of autonomy, speed, aesthetics, comfort and safety that users were expecting, the Laté 28 was built in about 50 units and 9 different versions, including a seaplane version.

His career will be intense until 1935, with “Aéropostale” and other companies including Aéroposta Argentina, Linea Aeropostal Venezolana.

– The Laté 28 is a great success for P-G Latécoère who had started the studies and the construction of the prototype on his own funds.

The crossing of the South Atlantic by Jean Mermoz and the famous novel Vol de nuit by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry will make it a legend.

This study enabled our client to validate the feasibility of this reconstruction, and thus to present a successful project to future partners. We hope that this historic and exciting adventure will be effective!
